What is on the AWS CWI exam?
The AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) exam has three parts: Part A (Fundamentals — 150 questions on welding theory, symbols, and safety), Part B (Practical application using AWS D1.1 or another code book), and Part C (Code Book open-book exam). All three must be passed.
How hard is the CWI exam?
The CWI exam has a first-time pass rate of roughly 50%. Part B (practical) is considered the most difficult. Strong knowledge of welding symbols, discontinuities, and NDE methods is essential. VoltExam's CWI Prep focuses on the highest-yield topics.
How many questions are on the CWI exam?
