About the Journeyman Electrician Exam

The journeyman electrician exam is administered by your state's electrical licensing board and is based on the National Electrical Code (NEC). Most states use the 2020 or 2023 edition. The exam typically has 80–100 multiple-choice questions and requires a passing score of 70–75%.
