What are the ASE certification exams?
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) offers 50+ certifications across Automobile (A-series), Truck (T-series), Collision (B-series), and other specialties. How many questions are on the ASE exams?
ASE exam length varies by test: most A-series exams have 40–75 questions with a 75-minute to 2.5-hour time limit. You need roughly 65–70% correct to pass. Scores are reported as pass/fail with a diagnostic breakdown by content area.
What is the ASE A8 exam?
ASE A8 covers Engine Performance — the most comprehensive and commonly tested ASE exam. Topics include ignition systems, fuel systems, emissions, computerized engine controls, and drivability diagnosis. It's required for Master Automobile Technician certification.
